Brazilian Wax in Medellín: Prices, What to Expect & How to Book
Searching for a Brazilian wax in Medellín usually means you want four things settled before you book: what it costs, whether the place is clean and professional, how much it is going to hurt, and whether you can arrange all of it in English. This page covers those four for Diamond Spa in El Poblado, using our real prices and the protocol our team actually follows.

How much is a Brazilian wax in Medellín?
At Diamond Spa a Brazilian is booked as the bikini service. That means one price whether you want a classic line, a full bikini or the full Brazilian, and you choose the finish in the cabin.
| Service | Method | Price | About in USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bikini / Brazilian | Wax | COP 80,000 | US$25 |
| Bikini / Brazilian | Machine | COP 60,000 | US$19 |
| Perianal area only | Wax | COP 65,000 | US$20 |
| Perianal area only | Machine | COP 45,000 | US$14 |
The dollar figures use the official exchange rate (TRM) of COP 3,185 per US dollar on October 23, 2026, rounded to the nearest dollar. The rate moves and you pay in pesos, so read the dollars as a guide, not a quote. Prices are as of October 2026.
A full Brazilian, front to back, is booked as bikini, and that is the whole price. The perianal service is for people who want only that area (it takes about 30 minutes), so you do not need to add it on top. With wax, the result lasts three to four weeks, and the machine is the gentler option if your skin is sensitive. You can see every zone and current price on our bikini waxing page and on the hair removal in Medellín page.
Classic, full or Brazilian: what is the difference?
It is the same service with a different finish. This is how the three compare:
| Finish | What gets removed |
|---|---|
| Classic | Only the hair that shows outside a swimsuit. |
| Full bikini | Goes further in at the front. |
| Brazilian | All the hair in the intimate area, front to back, leaving it completely bare or with a strip. |
You talk it through with the cosmetologist before she starts, so you do not need to know the exact terms. Some places sell the fully bare version as a “Hollywood” wax. Here it comes down to telling her how bare you want it and whether you would like to keep a strip.
What happens during a Brazilian wax
The slot is 30 minutes, in a private cabin with the door closed and a certified cosmetologist. She explains each step as she goes, everything is done with single-use materials, and you can ask for a pause whenever you need one.
- 01
Choose your finish
You decide between a classic line, a full bikini or a Brazilian, and whether you want to keep a strip.
- 02
Trim and cleanse
If the hair is long, she trims it first, then cleans the area.
- 03
Wax in small sections
She works from the outside in, in small strips, holding the skin taut so each pull is clean.
- 04
Tweezers and a calming product
Any stray hairs are removed with tweezers, and she finishes with a soothing product on the skin.
Does a Brazilian wax hurt?
Yes. It is one of the most sensitive areas of the body, and we rate it medium to high. The first session is the most intense, and that is the one people worry about.
From the second or third session the hair comes back finer, and the discomfort drops a lot.
Ways to make it hurt less
- Avoid the days around your period. Sensitivity goes up just before and during it, so the week after is the best time to book. You can still come on your period with a tampon or menstrual cup, but expect it to hurt more.
- Skip caffeine and alcohol for a few hours beforehand. Both make skin more sensitive.
- Arrive hydrated and calm, and breathe out on each pull.
- Get the hair length right. Between 5 mm and 1 cm. If it is too short the wax cannot grip it and she has to go over the area again.
- If you are nervous, start gently. A classic line or the machine is gentler for a first time, and you can move to a full Brazilian at your next visit.
How to prepare for a Brazilian wax
- Let the hair grow for two to three weeks, to between 5 mm and 1 cm (roughly 0.2 to 0.4 inches). If it is longer, she will trim it before waxing.
- Do not shave in the days before. Shaving resets the growth, and you would have to wait again for the hair to reach the right length.
- Shower as usual, and skip creams and oils on the area that day.
- Arrive five to ten minutes early. The session ends at the scheduled time, so arriving early gives you a moment to settle and talk through the finish.
When to reschedule or check with us first
Let us know before your appointment, or reschedule, if any of these apply:
- You have an infection, herpes or active lesions in the area.
- You are pregnant. It can be done, but tell us first, because the skin is more sensitive.
- You use retinoids or isotretinoin.
- You recently had laser treatment or a sunburn on the area.
Aftercare: the first 24 hours matter most
- Wear cotton underwear and loose clothes.
- Avoid sex, the gym, pools and saunas for 24 hours.
- Keep the area out of the sun for 48 hours.
- From about day 2 or 3, once the redness has settled, exfoliate gently two or three times a week and moisturize daily.
- Book your next wax three to four weeks later. A regular rhythm keeps the hair finer and sparser.
If you do end up with red bumps or an ingrown hair, we wrote a full guide: Bumps & ingrown hairs after waxing.
Timing a Brazilian wax around your trip
A few things that matter if you are only in town for a while:
- Book it at least two days before any pool, beach or lake day. Pools and saunas are off the table for 24 hours, and direct sun on the area for 48.
- Plan the growth. The wax needs hair of 5 mm to 1 cm, so if you can, skip the razor for the couple of weeks before your appointment.
- One appointment usually covers a trip of up to about a month, since the result lasts three to four weeks. For a longer stay, book the next one around the three-to-four-week mark.
- Pack loose cotton clothes for the first day.
Is it hygienic? What we do, and what to ask anywhere
This is the question people ask most, and it is fair. At Diamond Spa:
- Linen and towels are changed for every guest.
- Surfaces and tables are disinfected between appointments.
- Waxing materials are single-use. We never put a spatula back into the wax pot.
- Tools are sterilized.
- Our biosafety protocol follows Colombian regulations.
Wherever you decide to get waxed, ask about these things. A place that dodges the question has answered it.

Is a Brazilian wax the same as a bikini wax?
At Diamond Spa they are the same service with a different finish. A classic bikini removes only the hair that shows outside a swimsuit, a full bikini goes further in at the front, and a Brazilian removes all the hair in the intimate area, front to back, leaving it bare or with a strip. Yes, it is one of the most sensitive areas of the body, and we rate it medium to high. Avoiding the days around your period, skipping caffeine and alcohol for a few hours beforehand, and starting with a classic line or the machine all help.
How long does it last, and how often should I get waxed?
With wax the result lasts three to four weeks. Waxing every three to four weeks keeps the hair coming back finer and sparser, and the sessions get less painful over time.
Can I get a Brazilian wax on my period?
Yes, with a tampon or menstrual cup, but your skin is more sensitive on those days and it will hurt more. If you can choose, book the week after your period.
Can I go to the pool or the beach after a Brazilian wax?
Wait 24 hours before the pool, sauna or gym, and keep the area out of the sun for 48 hours. If you have a pool or beach day planned, book your wax at least two days before.
Do you speak English?
Yes. We handle bookings and appointments in English and Spanish, the whole website is available in both languages, and you can message us on WhatsApp in English.

Do you wax men?
Yes. Our men’s waxing menu lists chest, back, perianal area and full body, always in a private cabin. If you are looking for something else, message us on WhatsApp before booking.
Do I need an appointment?
